Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

Harvest time. Big harvest in August. Total dividend income amounted to $7692.77. Plus the rental and multiplier interest total amount to $10068.43. That,..... probably is the first time I see a 5 figure within a month.

Starting today, I am jobless. My last employment day was 1st Sept.

Rather surprising, I felt nothing when I was packing my office table. I guess there wasn't much attachments remains in that place. I spend almost 18 years of my life there. The environment has changed a lot,  most of the colleagues I used to know are no longer there. Well, it is time to move on.

Working on my own stuffs at my own pace now. Also doing regular workout since I got more time to take care of myself. The efforts seem to pay off. Latest medical reviews show some improvements in my condition. Well, that is certainly encouraging. Keep it up!!!!

Portfolio remains unchanged. Now that I no longer have any income from a regular job. Cash holding is expected to grow slower than before.

Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

It is a cold month for dividend income. Only $142.00. July passive income was mostly from rental and a fixed deposit which happened to pay out toward the end of the month.

But the most important thing is, I have activated FIRE. Starting next month, I will be leaving my employment job of 18 years. From this blog starting in 2019 to present 2024, I have been monitoring my portfolio's ability to maintain a sustainable passive income apart from my salaried income. My portfolio has weathered the storm of Covid and seen some up and down through the years. So far, I have managed to stay on the positive side without the need to dig into my salaried income. My expense remains low and without the regular salaried income, I am still able to save a portion of the passive income.

Naturally, I received several criticism from the conventional group of people. Giving up a stable government job of 18 years is no laughing matter, especially in this uncertain time. Time however is no longer on my side. As I am nearing half a century old, I can feel my time is running out. Life is short. There are time, when we have to make a life changing decision. And this is my decision.

So where will I go now? I started pursuing my own interest. No! No! Not staying at home play games! LOL. It's a childhood dream which I hope to achieve in my lifetime. Whether I succeed or not, that will be another time to tell the story. So, here I goes...... the official exit from the employment workforce.

War chest continue to grow without any changes in the portfolio. But starting next month, my war chest growth will slow down dramatically after I leave the employment.

Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

This month received a total passive income of $6.606.63. This brings the 2nd quarter amount to $14,819.05 which is average about $4,900 per month.

It has been a long journey. I started this blog in year 2019 to keep track of my financial status. For 5 years, things has been on the positive side, the passive income has always been more than our household expenses. And early this year, I fully paid off my housing loan. Basically, I am now debt less and passive income remain stable so far.

I did something scary last week. I activated FIRE, preparing to leave my employment of 17 years to pursue my interest. I have to admit, it was a frightening choice to make, leaving a stable job walking into the unknown. I expected to face criticism from the conventional people.

Portfolio remain unchanged, cash holding attained my target amount. Now, I wait. If an opportunity ever comes in my remaining lifetime, this war chest shall be my last adjustment to my portfolio.

Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

The month of May got a huge boast from dividend income, amount to$5,039.22. This added with the rental income total amount is $7,313.38.

Income aside. There is something I have been planning for a long time in mind. When should I activate FIRE. It is a tempting thing and yet a frightening thought. It would means leaving a secured job and lost one source of income. And if I ever need to return to the workforce, I would definitely never be able to regain the same salary income as I am getting now. This would require come careful planning as my passive income isn't considered a lot, our household low expense enable us to maintain positive saving every month. The only thing I worry are the unforeseen things which might happens.

Market remain quiet despite the looming possibility of the cut in interest rate. As I prepared for the future plan of activating FIRE, I would need to build a strong cash holdings.

Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

April has been a very busy month. Weeks of non-stop affairs and things to settle. As the month drew to close, I started to prepare my next big move. 9 more weeks to go. Not sure if it will works out as planned. Pray and hope.

A cold month for dividend income, only $892.37. But as usual, our passive income was boast by rental income which was revised last month to $2,200. Good to have different sources of income.

Market as usual remain unchanged. Even thou it took a small impact in the mid of the month but market recovered toward the end of month. my portfolio however has taken a hit as the REIT industries purge down in the high interest environment. Over the years, I have been trying to reduce my exposure in REITs, For now, the waiting goes on.........

Monthly Financial Updates

This monthly report does not include any salaried income. The basis for this monthly financial review is to gauge the sustainability status of my financial independence based on the total amount of passive income received.

We renew our tenancy contract with our tenants for another year. The rental was revised to $2,200 starting in April. Just a little bit more to cover the rising inflation. Actually, base on the statistics ours rental is much below the benchmark, but we are not so dependent on rental income anyway.

Dividend income gets a good boast amounted $6,936.90. This brings a nice end to the 1st quarter of the year 2024 with total amount of $15,696.66, that is an average of about $5050 each month. Not bad, hopefully this can keep up.

Nothing much happening in the market. Cash holdings gets a good boast. People talking about a possible recession coming in this year. Well, let's see how it goes.
