About me

About Me / My Quest

I’m a man with unconventional interests. I love reading, writing, studying, and exploring anything that catches my curiosity. I’m also a gamer—but only if the game offers a rich world full of things to discover. Because of this, I often find there’s never enough time in the day.

There have been times when I suddenly develop a deep interest in something and spend an entire weekend researching and studying it. But as usual, before I can finish, Sunday ends—and I have to set my passion aside to prepare for the “zombie routine” of Monday’s work life. A friend once joked that I live like a reclusive hermit, surrounded by books and scrolls. LOL. Honestly, I think he’s not wrong. Given the choice, I’d read and study forever.

This love of learning and exploration is what drives me to pursue financial independence — to gain the freedom to follow my interests without constraint.

My journey began in 1996, my first awakening to what I truly wanted from life. I realized I didn’t want to be trapped forever in the rat race. It took 21 years of exploration and hard work to reach my goal in 2017.

I started without direction and without like-minded people around me. There were countless moments of doubt and disillusionment, many sacrifices, and losses. While others lived colourful, energetic lives, I spent most of my time searching and exploring, hoping to find answers to my questions about where I was heading.

After many falls and failures, I finally found a path that worked in 2008. By following it steadily, I achieved financial security by 2016, and reached my first level of financial independence in 2017.

I’m just an average worker—starting as a technician before switching to a desk job in my 30s. I don’t gamble on luck because I don’t have it. Instead, I carefully plotted my path and stuck to it, maintaining a prudent lifestyle, adjusting when needed, and setting goals and targets. I built up my “war machines” to fuel my quest for freedom.

It’s been a long journey indeed.

I hope that by sharing my story and experiences, I can help others who are still searching for their own answers.
